The education resources in China is not average. Some cites have many good colleges, and some has a few, even none.

You're right in a way- there are some great new schools (the experimental schools, private schools, International schools) and some good schools attached to universities but these are mostly private and expensive. I however don't think it is the educational resources that lets down Chinese education sometimes but the reliance on exam based results, which forces students to rote learn information focused on passing exams.

I hate the Chinese education system - too much emphasis on the final grades. The only thing the admissions committee is scores! Scores don't even give you 10% of a picture that a student represents. I guess the reason for this moronic selection system is China's education resource is sparse in relative to the huge number of students in the country.

Fully agree that only test-based systems fall far short of measuring a person's ability!

Life is a much better determinate!  :D
Watch what some of the average or failing students go on to do in business!  It is simply amazing!

I've noticed that.

How can we change the teaching style so that kids are encouraged to be innovative, instead of simply copying exactly what the teacher does?  Don't get me wrong, this IS one way of learning!  Also, sometimes the copying is done with GREAT SKILL . . . so, when will the skill of stepping out to do something all on your own be encouraged and rewarded?  ???
